we still talk about you
The idea died in 2019. That's when I walked away and it went away soon after.
The idea was always ambitious. There was proof of what it did and moonshot talks about what it could be.
The idea was amazing when it worked. And disappointing when it failed.
The idea was where I got my start. It framed my way of thinking about this industry.
The idea was fun. I spent weeks thinking and building new things.
Nearly 10 years after I first encountered the idea, it's still on my mind. I still think there's something to it, I just can't tell yet.
The idea has led me to a new project. It's a moonshot idea of it's own and I don't know what's on the other side yet. I'm going into this knowing what was great about the original idea and what I'd want to change.
It'll very likely result in nothing. A soon to be abandoned repo of Rust.
But rebuilding it is the only way to get the idea out of my head. Put it into code. Build with it again. See if there's something there.
